Spotted - a crowd just opposite the bank
Whilst this bunch of fellows appeared friendly enough to this reporter - the question remains … Is your neighbourhood safe? Should the law be enforcing curfew?

San Francisco Hot Spots By Night
The happening places to go in SF reviewed by your favourite local paper.

The air is balmy and cool as I follow the leggy Viktoria to her establishment known as " The Forbidden Fruit." It is some what off the beaten track - the building is seemingly inconspicuous as she turns a key and throws open the doors to what can only be described as a hidden oasis of luxury.

Step in and the non descript exterior falls away to reveal an elegant lounge complete with well stocked bar. The place, with its marbled walls and detailed fittings invites you to recline in its womb like ambience… to luxuriate, relax… enjoy.

Indeed the place itself felt so enticing it seemed almost too heady to be real… or perhaps it was merely the potency of the drink that Viktoria expertly mixed. The drinks are perfection , one can certainly attest.

Of the Forbidden Fruit, Viktoria says "..we aren't your usual bar, as you can tell. A more appropriate word would probably be lounge. It's a place where you can come and relax, find a lovely person to spend time with, a friendly ear. We're so much more than a watering hole…" indeed so. One could hardly describe such attention to detail and decor as anything resembling a hole…

Viktoria is rather tight lipped about the patrons who visit ; When asked she says in that lilting slight European accent that one might find charming "… We are a very discreet establishment with the utmost respect for privacy. Nothing said within these walls to our staff ever leaves." One does wonder if those words are literally meant… though given such pampering treatment who would ever want to leave voluntarily anyway?

Who knows what temptations are to be found upstairs? Unfortunately this reporter was unable to find out ...

An Editor's Journal : Day 1

I arrive in SF a little past midnight ... been looking forward to this latest assignment from HQ. They say times have been changing in SF and where change occurs, news happens - is the bull crap they were trying to sell me anyway. I'd have just gone without the unnecessary hour long meeting to suit.

In any case, I see a building that could be perfect for the newspaper. It's by the pub they call " The Iron and Glass" - I call upper management and they say things will get shifted soon...

I clam my phone up and slip it back in my bag along with a choice selection of " things one shouldn't forget when exploring a new town.." and head back towards the pub.

On my way , I meet an interesting individual emerging out of the alleyway. She says her name is Aziya - to me it sounds unusual and exotic... so cosmopolitan - unlike the names I've grown up with , like Mary Sue and Joe Bob. She also has the most intense eyes I've come across... a sort of acid yellow... the sort that reminds me of owls..or cats... and other creatures of the night.
I remain polite and intrigued , it seemed that she was waiting for someone and so I made an exit.

Note to self :
Must write restaurant reviews!

The bar keep at The Iron and Glass pours a merry pint , and I downed the tawny ale I ordered in short shrift... The town is spookily quiet and as I look out of the windows, I find myself wondering about its citizens.

Then of course there is that other matter... I've only heard the tiniest whisperings of it but what I have heard sounds horrific enough to warrant further investigation. Apparently some supernaturals have started a trade on thralled humans somewhere under the city - or so I'm told, is where a weekly auction is taking place. The highest ever bid on a thralled human is estimated to have been about a quarter million.. least according to my last source and snooping around the internet.

If this story is true... then I dread to think what else might be true...still, I am determined to find out.
